P&C

We truly value our P&C and all the things they do for our school. Without them, the students wouldn't have access to things like the tuckshop, lunch on sports days, events like the colour run and the discos, classroom resources, new sporting equipment.

Who and what are the P&C?

We are parents, staff and community members who provide feedback and advice to the school.

We hold monthly meetings to hear directly from the school leadership team about things happening at Kilcoy State School; and to discuss how we can support the school.

The P&C manages two business operations, the tuckshop and the Uniform Shop as community services to help our families, students, and staff.

We help parents coordinate various events throughout the year for the students (gift stalls, discos, movie nights); as well as support school events (eg. sports day sausage sizzle, music evenings).

The P&C also raises funds to provide additional resources to the school to enhance student outcomes.

Why should you be involved in the P&C?

Our students benefit from the efforts we put into providing initiatives and opportunities around the school. The smiles tell us everything!

Our children feel a great sense of pride and connection knowing that their family is contributing to their school.

As a by-product, you will get to know other families, have a greater understanding of your child’s education, and help make our Kilcoy State School community even better.

How can you help?

We understand that every family is different, and that volunteering can take many forms.

You could:

  • Attend a P&C Meeting
  • Join the executive committee
  • Help with writing grants or other funding opportunities
  • Volunteer in the Tuckshop, Uniform Shop or at events like stalls and sausage sizzles
  • Donate resources/supplies/ time when needed
  • Support fundraising activities
  • Invite other Kilcoy families along to community events

There are many ways to contribute to the school community - some tasks may take 15 minutes, others may be more involved; but there is often a sense of satisfaction in helping “make it happen”.
